BAND HISTORY

Desert Sage began as a trio in 1996 with Stephen Lockhart on guitar and vocals, his brother, Eric on electric bass and backup vocals, and Larry J. on percussion. Ken Fitzer on mandolin and Steve Miller, a pedal steel guitarist, joined up in 1997. Steve Miller passed away in early 2007 and is deeply missed. Changes of band members in 2001 added our Fender Bass Man, Mark Valdez, and a fiddler, Doug Foster. The current sound that severely demands dancing feet includes Mike Mathews on snare drum, and our newest kid, Jeff Remy on vocals and harmonica.
